Micro-Residency: Screen Printing for Photographers

Upcoming

18 January 2026 - 15 February 2026

Language: English

Registration Deadline:
03 January 2026

This four-week micro-residency introduces participants to the full process of transforming photographic images into multi-layered silkscreen prints. Through guided workshops, technical exercises, and hands-on experimentation, participants will learn how to translate photographic files into print-ready separations, develop color layers, and refine their printing techniques across editions.

Artists will explore halftones, bitmaps, transparency, gradients, and overprinting to build complex visual compositions. By the end of the residency, each participant will produce a set of multi-color silkscreen prints on paper.

You’ll gain:

- Experience in translating photographic images into layered silkscreen compositions

- Technical skills in color separation using Adobe Photoshop

- Understanding of halftones, bitmaps, and film preparation

- Hands-on practice in registration, ink layering, and controlled printing techniques

- A final set of multi-color silkscreen prints developed in-studio
