In Its Presence

This exhibition is presented during Misk Art Week 2025.

There was a time when the Earth spoke and we listened.

For thousands of years, life in the Arabian Gulf followed the rhythms of the natural world. The land, sea, and sky guided when to sow and harvest, fish and dive, travel and rest. This knowledge, passed through generations, shaped both culture and community.

As modern life accelerates, that bond has grown fragile. Exhibition Title traces this evolving relationship through 28 artworks that reflect on what has been lost, what endures, and what might be reclaimed. The works move from confronting human impact to rediscovering inherited wisdom and imagining renewed harmony. They draw from folklore, memory, and lived experience, revealing how the environment holds stories of ancestry, identity, and time.

Through light, sound, and movement, artists evoke the wind, the sea, and the shifting light, transforming nature from backdrop to active presence. The result is an immersive experience that invites us to slow down, to look, to listen, and to feel the world beneath our feet.

If we begin to listen again, we may find a path toward healing the Earth and ourselves.
