Rituals transcend beyond mere routines and celebratory events; they weave into the fabric of cultural heritage, spirituality, and social cohesion. Through forms of repetition—a fundamental element at the heart of rituals—the artists in this exhibition create patterns that are integral to the cultural landscape; this offers an exploration of rituals from the vantage point of everyday life, while also acknowledging their pivotal role in fostering a sense of belonging. The presence of repetition is felt both in the public and intimate spheres, creating an interconnected pattern that bridges the spaces between.
Mirqab observes rituals as the works presented question everyday habits and practices, shedding light on the role rituals play as the cornerstone of collective memory. These rituals serve as a source of identity, continuity, and as a window into culture, uniting individuals across time and space through shared traditions and values.
