She studied in Riyadh and London. She earned a bachelor of arts in English Literature at King Saud University in 1980. She worked as an English language teacher in The General presidency for Girls’ Education, then as a manager assistant in the Art Centre in Alnahda. She took several art courses, then took training with specialized artists like; Liz Bathaineh, Alix Denzler, Jeanne Brubaker, Lee Chellemi. She started participating in local group exhibitions since 1987. Then, started exhibiting with The General Presidency of Youth Welfare, in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad, from 1988 till 2004. For example, General Exhibition for Formative Arts Collection, Saudi Contemporary Art Exhibition, The Kingdom Exhibition between yesterday and today, and Exhibition for female Fine Arts.
She also exhibited in several Jenadria’s festivals and exhibitions organized by embassies of the U.S.A., Britain, Holland, Italy, and India. Alhokail participated in all (The Beholder) exhibitions and exhibited with other local exhibitions organizers. Her participations exceeded 83 group exhibitions, had 3 solo and 1 binary, and granted several prizes. She showed oil artwork, soft pastel, acrylic, lino printing, but her watercolors standout best. She uses vivid colors in her paintings. Her favorite subjects are heritage matters, still life, flowers, and plants. Her artworks are held in public and private collections in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Britain, France, U.S.A., Italy, and Denmark. She is a member of the Saudi Art Association: GSFT Since 2006, a founding member in Saudi Heritage Preservation Society: SHPS since 2010 and a member in Saudi Association of design and Art: SADA since 2017.
