Latifa Al Khalifa is a researcher, curator and writer who explores Middle Eastern and North African culture, with a focus on the Arabian Gulf. She launched her arts consultancy Too Far, in 2016 in order to champion artists and creatives from the MENA region on a global scale. Currently, she is a regular contributor to Khaleejesque and Tribe Magazine and is an alumnus of the Bangkok edition of the ICI Curatorial Intensive (2018).
Latifa holds an M.A. in Cultural and Creative Industries from King’s College, University of London (2012), and has curated a myriad of projects and exhibitions in London, Dubai and Bahrain.
As part of Misk Art Institute’s mandate to encourage creativity and serve as a platform for emerging artists, Imprint also launched an open call for young talents specializing in photography and digital art across the Arab world. Over 140 submissions were received from across the Arab world and vetted by a committee comprising the curator, Latifa Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Saudi artist Moath Alofi and reps from Misk Art Institute. The works of 19 artists are displayed in a dedicated space within the exhibition.
