Spend two months as an intern within the MAXXI Exhibition Design Office in Rome, Italy.  

 

This internship is done in partnership with MAXXI Museum. 

 

This two-month internship places the intern within the MAXXI Museum Exhibition Design Office, a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing exhibition layouts for the museum’s artistic programming. 

 

For the first time, MAXXI will welcome an intern to work on the MAXXI Bvlgari Prize 2026 project alongside the Exhibition Design Office team. The intern will also contribute to the development of “Sensing the Future,” an exhibition exploring the legacy of Futurism and its relevance today. 

The internship emphasizes spatial planning, technical development, and collaboration across museum departments. 

 

Internship Overview 

 

This internship will cover key areas of exhibition design, including: 

  1. Exhibition layout development and spatial planning 
  2. Designing temporary exhibitions and prize-based exhibition formats 
  3. Analyzing architectural features, circulation, functionality, and accessibility standards 
  4. Producing technical drawings and spatial models using professional software 
  5. Collaborating with curators, architects, and museum professionals  
  6. Contributing to “MAXXI Bvlgari Prize 2026” and ‘Sensing the Future” exhibitions 

 

Who’s it for? 

Saudi architects, interior designers, or graduates of related fields, who meet the following: 

 

  1. Hold a valid Schengen visa with a minimum validity of six months  
  2. Proficient in English 
  3. Have a strong background in exhibition design 
  4. Demonstrate excellent AutoCAD skills 
  5. Proficient in Adobe Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and Microsoft Office 
  6. Have good knowledge of 3D modelling and rendering software such as SketchUp, Rhino, or 3ds Max 
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for project presentation and communication   
  8. Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills

About the Instructor 

Benedetta Marinucci  

An architect and exhibition designer at MAXXI, National Museum of 21st Century Arts in Rome. Since 2017, she has contributed to the design, production, and installation of exhibitions spanning art, architecture, photography, and comics. She collaborates closely with curators, artists, and museum departments to deliver high-quality, site-specific exhibition experiences.
