Misk Art Grant 2024

Our digital lives now saturate each moment, as platforms and screens emerge as ubiquitous mediators of relationships, knowledge formation, and very identities.

Misk Art Grant 2024 invites emerging and mid-career artists from the Middle East and North Africa to explore phenomena shaped by modern technology like constant connectivity, data analytics, and algorithmic systems. How have these reconfigured human experiences and engagements with the world? 

Expanding beyond traditional gallery spaces, we are seeking various forms of multimedia outdoor artworks such as video, virtual reality, sculptures, and installations. We seek artworks that investigate both the opportunities and limitations that media and technology impose, and welcome works critiquing technology's capacity to exploit or alter human behavior as well as pieces investigating its potential for novel social formations. 

The selected artworks will shed light on the interplay between technological progress and underlying social dimensions while encouraging critical reflection on the tools and processes that shape perception today.

What is Misk Art Grant?

An annual Grant designed to support artists and creatives from the Middle East and North Africa alongside Saudi nationals. The first of its kind in the Kingdom, each edition of the Grant presents a theme, mentorship programs with curators and specialists, as well as technical support.
