Showcase your work at the 3rd iteration of Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall Exhibition: Summer 2025

Misk Art Institute is pleased to present the annual Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall Summer Exhibition, which endeavors to support, promote, and exhibit the work of both Saudi artists and artists based in the Kingdom. This unique platform is designed to celebrate a wide range of practitioners, all in one space.

In 2025, artists of all levels of experience are invited to apply through an open call by exploring and interpreting the third edition’s thematic focus: The Intergenerational Lens of Social Change.

Selected works will be displayed in a group exhibition on view from July 27 to September 25, 2025, offering participants the unique opportunity to connect with the local creative community by means of a professional institutional setting.

Theme: The Intergenerational Lens of Social Change

Artists are encouraged to reflect on the personal and collective histories that shape social change across generations. They are also being challenged to delve into the narratives and lessons that have been passed down from parents, grandparents, and community leaders—and to discover how these inheritances shape our evolving identities as well as our understanding of change over time.

This exhibition aims to foreground the societal shifts that occur across generations: How do generational connections inform our society today? How do we carry forward the wisdom of the past to help shape an ever-changing world?

Submissions may be related to any of the following styles and themes:

  1. Figurative or abstract representations of the lessons, knowledge, and skills passed down through generations that examine how stories and values evolve or persist over time
  2. Portraiture that captures the essence of intergenerational relationships, thereby highlighting moments of connection, conflict, or transformation within families and communities
  3. Symbolic or figurative depictions of cultural heirlooms, practices, or rituals that reflect on their role in preserving identity amid societal change
  4. Artistic explorations of migration or cultural hybridity that illustrate the evolution of personal and collective identities across time
  5. Multimedia installations and videos that bring to life the resilience and wisdom of elders and highlight how these narratives have shaped subsequent generations

Seeking to foster a dialogue on societal change across generations, this exhibition asks artists to consider how we inherit, reinterpret, and redefine our social landscape. Artists are therefore invited to reflect on how personal and collective histories continue to inform our ever-shifting world.
