This five-day masterclass will help participants understand the dynamics and functions of varied forms of art writing, find their voice, and hone their style—guided by Cultural Strategist and Advisor Myrna Ayad.
Through assignments, a curator-led exhibition tour, and group discussions, participants will gain insight into the importance of writing for engaging diverse audiences within the art and culture sector.
Participants will culminate with an exhibition review and an interview with a curator and artist
You will:
Develop writing style, language, impact, and tone
Understand the different styles and approaches to art writing
Learn how to interview, review, and critique
Understand different media platforms (ArtForum, The Art Newspaper, eFlux, etc.)
