In this intensive five-day masterclass, writers delve into exploratory forms of art writing.
On a macro-level, the masterclass will:
Explore how art criticism acts as a domain that furthers the significance of a singular artwork or exhibition
Deliver insights into ongoing trends and movements in Art and visual culture in the Arab World
Teach how critics utilize certain writing strategies
Examine the methods and techniques used to develop art narratives
This masterclass aims to develop a good sense of a writer’s interests, voice, and technique. Led by artists, curator, and writer Dr. Aissa Deebi, writers will experiment with writing art criticism in Arabic and examine texts, objects, and narratives.
