The silkscreen micro-residency is a rare opportunity for photographers to expand their artistic practice.
This four-week, hands-on introduction to screen printing is instructed in Arabic and English, focusing on learning and experimentation with traditional silkscreen and related art techniques. Residents are provided with limited inks, emulsions, transparencies, and other supplies needed.
This residency is a comprehensive, process-based program with guidance and mentorship for a better understanding of the conceptual approaches to the art making process. The program aims for residents to understand the principles of silkscreen, experiment with a survey of printmaking techniques and their use in printing mediums through different techniques with the aim of producing an artwork.
Residents will exhibit their final project at the end of the residency in a showcase.

Masterclass: Photo Print
Introduces residents to halftone system, the reprographic technique that simulates continuous-tone imagery using dots, varying either in size or in spacing, generating a gradient-like effect.

Masterclass: CMYK Print
CMYK is a four-color process that produces full color images through halftone separation. With cyan, magenta, yellow, and black as the key colors, residents will be able to create full color images.
