Basma Felimban is a self-taught graphic designer who worked in various fields during her high school studies and after her graduation in 2011.

Her first work, Jim, marked a paradigm shift from design to contemporary art. This work was shown for the first time at the British Museum in 2012 as a sideshow in the exhibition Hajj: A Journey into the Heart of Islam.

The artist received an MA in Islamic and Traditional Art from the Prince Charles School of Traditional Arts in London, United Kingdom in 2017. Filmban has participated in many international and local exhibitions such as Art Dubai, 21,39, Contemporary Art Istanbul, Venice Biennale, and Art Abu Dhabi. In 2014, she won the Arab Woman Award in the "Young Talents" category, and the following year she was invited to participate as a member of the jury
