Mohammed Alfaraj is a multidisciplinary artist from AlAhsa, Saudi Arabia. He is interested in multiple artistic and cultural practices such as filmmaking, video, photography, installation, and writing; all to present a world charged with stories and tension between the roots of belonging and tradition, and the wings of modernity and progress. Alfaraj graduated with a B.A. in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals in 2017. The artist often uses natural materials found in his hometown and combines them with children’s games and stories from people working the land resulting in created states of hopeful co-existence between man and nature. Alfaraj draws inspiration from people, land, and the imagination which are at the core of his practice.
