Farah Alturki is a filmmaker, TV writer, and producer with a focus on female protagonists and underrepresented voices. In 2018, she graduated from Emerson College in Boston, USA, with a BA in Film and TV and a minor in Comedy Writing and Performance. She then worked at CBS Television Studios as an Executive Assistant to the head of the studio.

In 2019, Alturki returned to Saudi Arabia, where she line-produced the multiple-award-winning feature, 40 Years and One Night, that shows on Netflix.  

Alturki was selected to participate in Film Independent’s Storytelling Program with ImageNation  Abu Dhabi, where she developed her short film script. During the pandemic, she participated in the Red Sea International Film  Fest’s 48HR Film Challenge and began writing her feature debut. 

In 2022, Alturki pursued a residency at the Misk Art Institute, conceptualizing her documentary about Saudi women in nomadic communities as she continues to work as a consultant on the upcoming series, Lou Lou. She is also developing a series as a writer with Sameer Gardezi’s Break The Room Media initiative and hopes to pursue a master’s in film directing. She plans on turning her Masaha Residency project into a documentary series.
