AlHowede began practicing as a caricature artist in 1990 at the Aljazeera Newspaper and from 1994 – 2013 at the Al-Riyadh Newspaper during which time he focused on reflection, memory, and recording history. Over the years, he began to experiment and research different and creative ways to document history, heritage and interpret memories through visual art and conceptual art installations.
