Misk Art Institute presents, in collaboration with Sotheby’s Institute of Art, a four-day intensive course led by former Sotheby’s Deputy Chairman, Middle East Roxane Zand.
The course will address the key components and nature of both the commercial and non-profit sectors in the contemporary art world. It will describe:
The foundations of how the art landscape functions
How artists and art professionals navigate this landscape
The role of the primary market, the secondary market, pricing, and how an auction runs
The importance of institution building
The role of programming and engagement with the public
The differences in career-building in the for-profit and non-profits spaces
