Explore the potential of visual communication through poster design

Expand your knowledge of visual communication through a five-day exploration of the process in layouting and composition typography for posters.
Led by Design Director and Co-Founder of Zero Posters, Alaa Tameem, this masterclass is divided into two parts: the mastery and the exploration of posters. Participants will learn how to find solutions in layouting artworks using different techniques and develop participants’ understanding of grid methods.
This masterclass will cover:
- A recap of the fundamentals of graphic design
- Design for print and other purposes
- Layouting and composition typography for posters
- Solutions in layouting using different techniques
- New techniques using Illustrator and Photoshop

Day One

Exercise 02: Arabic letter/ Op Art poster design
Day Three
• 3D vanishing points
• Isometric drawing
• Gradient techniques
Exercise 03: Draw Arabic letter and one vanishing point poster
Exercise 04: One-word isometric poster
Days Four and Five
Practical application.
Exercise 05:
• Design a poster with an Arabic quote while linking it with a concept.
• Design a poster using one of the techniques learned in the first three days.
• Learn printing techniques and preparing the posters for production.
