Augustas Serapinas, Daniel Gustav Cramer, and Haris Epaminonda discuss theories of archival research approaches to creation in a talk led by “Re-appearing Imaginaries” exhibition curator Samuel Leuenberger.
Augustas Serapinas’s practice primarily deals with heritage preservation employing a form of appropriation and reuse that affirms cultural traditions as ever evolving.
Daniel Gustav Cramer and Haris Epaminonda’s work questions the plasticity of printed books as an art form and the innumerable possibilities of appropriating such material by recycling, overlapping, juxtaposing, remixing, merging, or altering them—even to the point that the original material ceases to exist, and in effect shifting the way we view them.
