Misk Art Institute presents, in collaboration with Sotheby’s Institute of Art, a four-day intensive course led by former Sotheby’s Deputy Chairman, Middle East Roxane Zand.

The course will address the key components and nature of both the commercial and non-profit sectors in the contemporary art world. It will describe:

  • The foundations of how the art landscape functions 

  • How artists and art professionals navigate this landscape 

  • The role of the primary market, the secondary market, pricing, and how an auction runs

  • The importance of institution building 

  • The role of programming and engagement with the public 

  • The differences in career-building in the for-profit and non-profits spaces
