The second installment of Misk Art Institute’s Public Masterclass Series offers artists an opportunity to enhance their practice. For five intensive days, participants will learn theories and practices to hone their oil painting skills by brushing on the fundamentals and exploring Renaissance painters’ process (moving from charcoal to oil paint).

Theory

• Color theory

• Layering colors (underpainting, underdrawing, imprimatura)

• Choosing the right tools (brushes, canvas, mediums, etc.)

Practical

• How to mix oil paints

• Painting with a limited palette

Who’s it for?

Early career and emerging artists with an intermediate level of painting skills, no formal education required.

Applicants must also be fully committed to prioritizing this five-day masterclass, with no exceptions.
