A one-of-a-kind opportunity to expand your artistic practice.

The silkscreen micro-residency is a rare opportunity for early-career and emerging artists to expand their artistic practice.

This four-week, hands-on introduction to screen printing is instructed in Arabic and English, focusing on learning and experimentation with traditional silkscreen and related art techniques.

Guided by a master screen printer, the residency will take place at a state-of-the-art screen-printing studio with access to a darkroom, exposure unit, printing stations with hinge clamps, dozens of screens, drying equipment. Residents are provided with limited inks, emulsions, transparencies, and other supplies needed.

This residency is a comprehensive, process-based program with guidance and mentorship for a better understanding of the conceptual approaches to the art making process.

The program aims for residents to understand the principles of silkscreen, experiment with a survey of printmaking techniques and their use in printing mediums through different techniques with the aim of producing an artwork.

Residents will exhibit their final project and are invited to give talks, exhibitions, or workshops at the end of the residency in the Showcase.
