Rashed Alsubaie is a photographer whose work captures the visual language of contemporary Saudi through the documentation of everyday life. Alsubaie’s projects begin with simplistic questions that trigger a journey of discovery, resulting in minimalist photography. He has many series that started with these questions, Life in Coronavirus Times (2020), Camels; God’s Gifts (2020), Uncle Hadeesh Playing the Flute (2021)

In 2016, he graduated with a BA degree in Islamic Studies from King Faisal University. He has published his work in various media outlets, including Arab News, National Geographic Arabic Twitter, and Apple’s Instagram account.

In 2022, Alsubaie pursued a residency at the Misk Art Institute to document the story and memories of Al Maramy, a type of ring worn on the middle finger, which his father gifted to his mother before he passed away.
