On July 16, 2023, Misk Art Institute presents Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall Exhibition: Summer 2023, an open-call exhibition featuring 33 visual artists of various levels from regions in Saudi Arabia. These artists responded to theme of “tradition” through paintings, photography, drawing, and sculptures.

Since its inception in 1985, Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall has been a landmark in the creative community. It draws audiences through art exhibitions featuring a wide spectrum of artists of all levels. Inspired by the Hall’s role in the development of the Saudi art scene, Misk Art Institute invited artists to apply to the inaugural annual Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall Exhibition: Summer 2023.

This exhibition presents works that express an aspect of society’s culture that—despite the influences of modern life—has been preserved and passed down from one generation to another.

From nationally recognized cultural events to intimate traditional practices that are passed down through families, each artist represents their own version of tradition. This results in a comprehensive and encompassing portrayal of society through the lens of their individual experiences.
